These silver coins have a face value of 10€ each, and are made with the state-of-the-art know-how of the Monnaie de Paris craftsmen who are able to expertly and creatively engrave precious metals.

These France by Jean Paul Gautier 10€ x 12 silver coins bear stylish yet historically inspired design, with a fineness of 333 and a unique look. Jean Paul Gaultier once said, “I like to look at things from an unusual perspective and question what’s expected”, and this year Monnaie de Paris is presenting this unique viewpoint on their coins. This series shows the cities, provinces and regions of France through the eyes of the iconic fashion designer, and these 12 silver coins each depict a distinctive scene, all of which include the classic Jean Paul Gaultier motif of horizontal Breton stripes, a design that was introduced into French Law in 1858 to locate overboard sailors. The reverse of each coin shows the face value surrounded by two branches, oak and laurel, reminiscent of the Euro symbol, and is presented within a hexagonal design to represent the shape of France. These contemporary coins are presented in an equally fashionable tube and concertina booklet.
